Thanksgiving & beyond

Thanksgiving has come & gone. We have much to be Thankful for. The weekend was a time of cooking, feasting & reflecting. Most of the Callihan crew celebrated at The Warner's house in Lakeland, Florida. Jeremiah & Kim spent Thanksgiving at home in Colorado after a visit in New York with Kim's family. Those present at the partaaay included: Dad, Mom, Bob, Bekah, Katie, Shawn, Josiah, Constance, Wesley, and pups; Babe, Chunky, Pudgy, Serif, Chai, & Kenzy & kitty;Delilah(I think that is the cat's name.) The weekend's highlights included Mom's birthday party, a great game of Balderdash, lots of pie, watching The Polar Express, playing Nertz & football. We went right from the Warner's to Aunt Dine's Longboat Key retreat where Gram's and Aunt Dine met us to continue the partying. We got the update on the Taliaferro Adirondack cabin(as shown above.) More pictures are up on flickr for all to see. (Thanksgiving pics will be added soon.) Obviously, there is much more to be told. I'll leave it up to the rest of you to add details as you see fit. Christmas is right around the corner! I can't wait!--Katie

Happy Birthday Mom!

The Callihan stories began a long time ago. It is a shame that we don't have a better record of all the craziness we have gone through together. I suppose the Holiday's are a good time to remember and rehash the stories and argue about what did or did not really happen. Today is Mom's 46th Birthday..jeepers. Mom, you are so fabulous!! All of us kids love you very much! You & Dad have instilled in us (besides strong wills-aka stubbornness) a love for Christ, self-confidence, loyalty and appreciation for the things that we have even when it doesn't seem like we have much at all. I love our family. We can argue, yell, laugh, cry, splurge, play, learn and pray together and then call it a family meeting. I don't know if you planned on having five kids, I doubt you planned on having five kids like us then having each of us add another weird somebody(example: Shawn) to the charade. Now that number is growing again, this time in depth with the coming arrival of your first grandson "Quasimodo." So, for all the stories that have been told & all the stories that need to be told & all the stories yet to be written.. here is my three-fold birthday present for you, Mom. A family blog. A family photoshare site. And a family Calendar so eloquently named "The Callihander." It isn't all in tip top shape yet, but is functional and much will be added soon (hopefully partially by all of you.) I hope you enjoy it. One thing we all are pretty lousy about is keeping in touch. Maybe this will take the edge off using the phone. I expect to see a post on here from every one of you by Christmas. It takes a few minutes to figure it out, but I have confidence that with your soaring IQ's, you should be able to post at least a letter of the alphabet. There will be tutoring at Christmas for those of you stuck in the last millenium. I love you all and today, I especially love you, Mom!
Happy 46th Birthday!! Yippee!
With Love(your favorite), Katie
