Oh my gosh. What a difficult thing for you. Babe will always be so special in our hearts. I remember her as a pup...long before the "puppy bushes" and the love of our lives, Sadie, was born. I remember what a Mom she was (you notice I did not use an adjective....) let it suffice to say that when I saw her teaching her pups to drink out of the hot water faucet of the bathtub, well, that said it all...
Sadie is just like her -- already blind from diabetes and deaf - alas - apparently from only earwax, and we are disgustingly pursueing that!!!
Sadie is scheduled for very expensive cataract surgery the week before Thanksgiving. We will be traveling to Columbus Ohio, to MedVets, the nationally recognized experts in the field. Babe would be pleased to know that Sadie, who is now blind with cataracts, will be restored to normal sight!!!
Seriously, I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm glad I got to visit with Babe last month in Florida. She is special, and always will be. How are the other pups doing with her absence? Dogs always know...
